A Tree – Out standing in it’s field.

Tree in a field

A Tree outstanding in it's field.

After taking pictures of the horses the other night we were standing around talking before leaving to go home. We all spotted this tree standing all alone in the field across the road. It was starting to get dark and the others had to leave so I grabbed my tripod and took a few shots of this wonderfully shaped tree. I still wonder why you see loan trees growing all by themselves in farm fields. If there is and actual reason let me know!

Pretty sure its for water management 🙂 (I am sure there is a specific term for it)

    • I wondered about that because we have talked about it before. I don’t know if one tree in a field would do much though.

    • Thanks, the ground had very little colour to it so it did come out rather black and white but I did not convert it.

At one time this tree was in a fence row, in the 1960’s farmers started to remove the rail fences. With in these fences were trees and shrubs which were all removed to create larger fields. This tree was most likely left there to provide shade for the cattle that grazed in that field.
