Vines and Brick
The ivy on this old building in Elmira Ontario will soon loose it’s leaves. All that will be left for the winter is a web of vine branches.

I’m not sure (without checking photos I have) but I think this is the building on Arthur Street North, the one for which my grandfather Charles Wilken was the mason. His “signature” is the wood scrollwork above the windows. Some are still visible. There are many houses in Elmira which he built and which have that scrollwork. Not sure if that’s information you would like.

This building is actually one of the Chemtura buildings at the end of Erb St. I know the building on Arthur St N. that you are talking about and they are similar in design and were probably built around the same time. Thanks for the information. It’s always nice to learn about the history of these buildings.
