Cattle Skull Gate

This shot was taken near the entrance to the Saskatoon Berry Farm in Okotoks, Alberta. It’s one of those iconic symbols of the west. I added some texture to change it up.

Violet Hill Gas Pumps

Violet Hill Gas Pumps

Violet Hill Gas Pumps

Today I am sending you all a Post Card from Violet Hill! Between Shelburne and Alliston Ontario you will find the little hamlet of Violet Hill and these abandoned fuel pumps. I passed by several of these on our travels this summer and each time I thought I should stop and turn around to take a shot but then didn’t. This time I listened to myself and got the shot.

The Footbridge on the Health Valley Trail

Health Valley Trail Footbridge

Health Valley Trail Footbridge

This footbridge can be found on the Health Valley Trail that meanders its way along the Conestogo River between the villages of St. Jacobs and Conestogo. It is a beautiful and relaxing spot!

The effect applied to this photo is a result of multiple process from HDR to texture blending. I just kept experimenting with it until I got a look I liked.

Bad Hair Day

Metal plate treeI couldn’t decide what to call this picture and my Wife came up with Bad Hair Day! I makes this kind of spooky looking shot into one that makes you smile!

Lost in Art

Lost in Art

This street musician at the St. Jacobs Market was lost in his art. It was as if he was being transported back to his home land playing for family and friends. Or maybe in a concert hall before thousands of fans. The instrument is a Niko which apparently is the most famous Chinese instrument in Japan.
I have been in a bit of an experimental mode with my photography lately. I guess you could say I have been getting lost in my art.

Possessed in Lightroom and Photoshop with a couple of texture layers added.

Old Steel Bridge

Old Steel Bridge - Winterbourne Ontario

Old Steel Bridge

This old steel bridge crosses the Grand River just west of the Village of Winterbourne Ontario. It is a single lane bridge and one of those that make you think “can this support the weight of my car?”.

Tree House

I came across this tree house a few weeks ago when I was out shooting with my friend Anthony. He actually spotted it first so I had to stop and get a couple shots. I decided to spice the picture up a little with a grunge texture and played with the hue and saturation in light room.
