Wilkes Dam Brantford
Wilkes Dam was built by George Samuel Wilkes (1822-1906), mayor of Brantford in 1853, to supply water to his business, Holmedale Mills. It is a popular fishing location in Brantford. Click on the image to see it a little larger.
This is a 5 image panorama stitched in Photoshop CS2. The images are made up of 3 exposure HDR mixed in Photomatix. The final tweaks were done in Lightroom.
Clock Tower in Brantford
This is one of those “in the right place at the right time” shots. We were down-town Brantford Ont. taking a few pictures when I noticed the sun shining through the top of the Clock tower.
The Historic Places website describes it this way. ” The Federal Building in Brantford is located on a prominent corner lot in the downtown core of the city. It is a monumental, reinforced concrete structure with a variety of stone facings. Designed in the Beaux-Arts style, it features a tall clock tower and a row of engaged Ionic columns along the principal elevations.”
Fishing on the Grand
Taken at Wilkes Dam Brantford a fisherman tries his luck as the sun breaks through the clouds in the evening.

No Rats!
This was taken in Brantford at the Train Station. There were some rail cars there and they seem to be a magnet for “Graffiti Artists”. I don’t consider this to be Graffiti Art but it made me smile and I love the texture of the paint and rusty metal.
Processed in Lightroom, Photoshop and Topaz
Grand Sunset
In contrast to the Brownfield area I posted yesterday, Brantford has some very beautiful areas. One of them is Glenhyrst Gardens where we took in a sunset over the Grand River.
5 Exposure HDR, Photomatix, Photoshop, Noiseware, Lightroom
